It turns out that the source code, and presumably the precompiled binary are using dependencies that are broken/unavailable for new versions of linux. I thought perhaps the solution would be to compile the app specifically for my computer. Some files are there but many are missing. The stock app has been trying to sync on my Ubuntu 23.04 LTS installation for about 5 days. Thanks v much - any chance you could supply an older dropbox-lnx please, something from around 2016 ? I'll take my chances if anyone could supply me an older version, until it updates - by then I would either re-install an older version or would have already updated to a higher/compliant OS. If I went to red hat 8 i would satisfy the glibc prereq but still, it's a bit of a gamble. They state fedora 21 or higher and I have red hat 7.9. Thanks, no, that's the thing, the prereqs state glibc 2.19 or higher, and I only have 2.17 and can't go higher. Interested in Community Groups? Click here to join! Need help with something else? Using the site you provided, I went back in time a tried a few older versions until I got to one old enough for it to not ask for glibc2.18, but then when it tried linking my account to dropboxd, it error-ed out as following:ĭid this post help you? If so, give it a Like below to let us know. I would then check ( with the "nm" command above ) the included libdropbox_core.so file, and as long as it doesn't want a glibc newer than 2.17 it could work.
